Vector logo creation
'Something bold, simple and easy to recognise on the water with a nightjar flying across the moon' was the brief from the Nightjar sailing team.
After researching various species of Nightjars and finding out some odd 'facts'...
"They have a supernatural reputation with silent flight and a mythical ability to steal milk from goats"...
(thanks RSPB but not true).
I realised that the UK species wasn't a very exciting shape to use as a logo... so I broadened my search the African nightjars, whose standard winged males grow 38cm long feathers during the breeding season. Which is far more interesting to look at!
After the logo was approved by the team, I made the print ready files and it was quickly applied to the hull and then on to the teams shore team kit by Clare at thread studios.
