A Little About Hedge Illustrates ...
An illustrator with a love of boats
I'm Hannah, the illustrator behind Hedge Illustrates.
I've always loved drawing, but boats, sailing and life on the water have become a particularly important part of my work.
I love the challenge of capturing a boat accurately while also creating a painting that feels personal to the person who owns it. That's why I've now painted more than 400 boat portraits, from sailing yachts and racing boats to dinghies and rowing boats.
My work also takes me into the world of nautical events, where I create artwork and branding for races, regattas and other events.
Alongside this, I've illustrated three published books and work on a range of illustration and design projects.
No AI. Just illustration.
Every piece of artwork I create is made by me. I don't use AI to generate my illustrations.
I believe there is something special about artwork created by a real person who has taken the time to understand the subject, the story and the person commissioning it.
Traditional drawing and watercolour are at the heart of my work, supported by digital design when a project needs artwork adapted for print, social media or merchandise.
Based in Leicestershire, I work with clients locally and throughout the UK.
