Welcome to Hedge Illustrates — home to bespoke watercolour boat portraits, nautical illustration and creative design.
I specialise in painting boats that mean something to the people who sail, row, race and live around them. From much-loved family dinghies and rowing boats to sailing yachts and classic vessels, every portrait is individually drawn and painted in watercolour.
Alongside boat portraits, I create illustration and branding for sailing events, regattas and races, developing artwork that can be carried through merchandise, social media, signage and promotional material to give an event its own distinctive identity.
I'm also a published illustrator, with three books illustrated to date.
Everything is created by me, without AI-generated artwork — combining traditional drawing and watercolour with digital design where it helps bring a project together.
